SPEED is a business support project run by the University of Wolverhampton, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), that offers tailored support packages for individuals who want to start a business.
From co-working space to match-funded grants, the project aims to support people with a business idea, a newly created business or established SMEs to develop their businesses within the Black Country and the Marches.
Breakdown
Client: University of Wolverhampton
Disciplines: Account Management, Asset Creation, PPC Campaign, SEO

Summary.
Brief.
The main objective was to drive a consistent monthly flow of enquiries (leads) via digital channels, from people who could benefit from the SPEED project, in the Black Country and The Marches transitional area.
Over a 10 month period, our target was to help the SPEED team achieve 400 outputs.
Approach.
We built and delivered a multi-channel digital campaign which comprised of search engine optimisation (SEO), paid social media advertising, search engine marketing (SEM), website copywriting and enhancing the existing website UX.
Outcome.
The campaign was a huge success, Ubiquity tracked 828 conversions across the website during the 10 months and generated 631 leads directly through paid advertising – 57% above target. Thanks to the success of this campaign, in 2019 the University decided to extend our contract for a further two years.
“Ubiquity has been instrumental to the success of the SPEED Project. By surpassing our expectations and delivering an exceptional digital marketing campaign, we managed to reach new business owners who we may never have had the opportunity to support. This, in turn, has helped to further support business growth, creation and economic prosperity across the region.”
